HOUSEKEEPING:

A reminder to parents that Oldfield is a healthy School and it is our responsibility to promote healthy eating to the children. Our school dinners are nutritionally balanced and therefore provide a healthy lunch. Packed lunches can be healthy too: they should consist of 1/3 protein, 1/3 carbohydrate and 1/3 fruit & veg. We discourage chocolate and sweets in packed lunches. Chocolate based spreads are not permitted.

  • Unless the children are asked to bring something to school, we ask that parents do not allow their children to bring personal items/toys into school including mobile phones.

  • It would be really helpful, if, when letters are sent out to parents that any replies are returned immediately. It makes for a lot of work, chasing up replies, re-sending letters etc.

  • Dogs/animals are not allowed on school premises for Health & Safety reasons.

  • We politely request that parents and children do not drop litter on Oldfield Lane.

EMERGENCY PLAN:

The school has an emergency plan, which includes having a place of safety. Our nominated place is The Grouse Inn. Please see the procedures under the policy tab.

SCHOOL DINNERS:

SCHOOL DINNERS are payable weekly, monthly or termly using ParentPay. Please contact the school if you do not receive any login details. Children can choose each day whether they want a meal or a packed lunch. For Bumble Bees class we order in advance; please print out a menu (below) or collect from the office and return as soon as possible. If your child is having packed lunches, please let the office know via email or telephone.

DAILY ATTENDANCE/BREAKFAST CLUB AND ENTRY TO SCHOOL:

Please note that school starts promptly at 8:55am (8:45 doors open) each day and finishes at 3.15/3:20pm. It is very important that you contact school if you and your child are going to be late or absent and that your child is collected on time at the end of the day. Unfortunately we do not have the staff available to supervise children after school.

Our Breakfast Club is available from 7:30 at a cost of £4 per child per day. This will rise to £4.50 in September 22 Please enter school by the front door. School is open to all children from 8.45am. If your child arrives after 9.00am they must enter school by the side visitor entrance and inform the office of their arrival.

Snow: Should we have to close for an extended period (more than 2 days) places are offered at Lees (if open) as an alternative on day 3.

HOLIDAY DATES:

HOLIDAY DATES are available on the school website and we also have issued handy wallet sized cards. If you would like any more, please ask in the office. Holiday dates for 23-24 are now on the school’s website.

CLOTHING ALLOWANCE:

Bradford Council no longer provides a discretionary school clothing allowance, however any child who is eligible for free school meals can apply for a clothing allowance of up to £40 from Pupil Premium funding.  Please ask Ms. Balderstone in the office for more details.
